Lead Me On.

Have you ever been confronted with making a very tough decision? Your flesh desires one thing, but your spirit is leading you to something completely opposite. The inner battle to not give in to what the flesh wants you to do. Why the fight? Because, it’s so much easier falling into a trap of the flesh, than to submit to the what the Spirit wants you to do. Why the battle? Because, when following the flesh, you can see results instantaneously. But in the Spirit, the seed needs it's time to grow into mature fruit.

Now, a disconnect we have are the times when we actually believe that the flesh can profit anything good to us. I understand how easy and comfortable it is to listen to the flesh. I know how easy it is to be led by your emotions. But, we miss out on seeing the destruction brought by our flesh when we are led by it. The only thing the flesh is guaranteed to led you towards: Death. The flesh is naturally sinful.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The beauty of the Spirit is that it is THE living God inside you. In order to listen to the voice of the Spirit, you have to silence the noise of the flesh. Many times, the flesh will begin to scream at you to be: depressed, anxious, frustrated, angry, worried, stressed, and the list continues. This is why we see countless people making rash and wild decisions because they are led by how they’re feeling. What if I told you that instead of being led by fleshy emotions, you can instead be led by the Holy Spirit that will ALWAYS lead you into all truth.

In moments of my life where I want to give up or I don’t know what to do; I always go back to this verse:

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”

Psalms 32:8

I have made many mistakes in my past because I simply listened to the flesh instead of the Spirit. I didn’t pray before making a decision or I was simply ignoring what God was telling me to do. I allowed my emotions to dictate my decisions. So, this verse reminds me that I can instead depend on God to lead me exactly where I need to go. God will take His time and teach me the way I should go! All I needed to do was surrender myself to Him, in His presence, and wait for the instructions.

Maybe you’re finding yourself being led by the wrong things. You find yourself making the same mistakes over and over again. But, have you taken the time to stop listening to the same old voice that’s leading you to your failure and instead allowing yourself to be led by the Spirit of God? God is ready to lead you into the best life you could ever possibly live. But, it takes subjection to the Spirit to allow yourself to be led by His way, His plan, and His direction. I dare you today to tell the Spirit, “Lead me on!”. I promise the inner battle inside won’t be such a struggle anymore. The Lord will lead you by His Righteous Hand.
