Decisions.

A decision. A choice. A simple yes can change everything. I never realized the power of a decision until I faced the darkest, loneliness, and dreadful season of my life. Not because of life just happening to me, but for continuing making wrongful decisions. I am no victim here. I want to drive out the point that my decisions took me to a place I never thought I would be. I was lost, confused, and broken. It showed me the reality of my internal state. My decisions only reflected what I believed about myself. Then the moment came where I had to make one of the most important decisions of my life. The decision of whether I was going to say yes to destruction or freedom. Because if you really think about it, ultimately decisions are saying yes to one thing and no to another. At that moment, I really wanted to give up everything I knew was right. I wanted to give up everything I knew to be true. But like the words of Jeremiah the prophet, he said, “But His word was in my heart like a burning fire; Shut up in my bones”. No matter how badly I wanted to give up, I remembered the words of my Savior. The words of life that He has spoken over me. The words of life that are written about me. Those words came flooding in and reminded me that I was bought at a price. The truthful words of who the Son sets free is free indeed. The beautiful words of that nothing could ever separate me from the love of Christ. These words led me to the Word who is Jesus. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory”. At that very moment, I was reminded that the Word was all I needed. So, it wasn’t about saying yes to destruction or freedom, it was really about saying yes to Jesus! I finally decided to give Jesus my complete YES! Since then, I have been able to behold His glory. My life has been moving from glory to glory because of what Jesus, the Word, has been doing in my life. Today, you might find yourself reflecting on decisions you have made. Realizing it’s leading you down a path you didn’t plan for yourself. Decisions that have left you at your breaking point. However, decisions are based on what you choose to do. Will you keep making decisions based on past failures, regrets, or opinions? Or today will you decide to trust in the Word who became flesh? Jesus is present. He is all around us. He is one simple yes away. Decide for yourself to give Jesus your complete yes. I’m telling you when you give Him your yes, He will give you His best! John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.“ Decide today to say yes to the way, the truth, and the life. He will never lead you astray, but He will be with you every step of the way.
